School Takes Action After Seeing What Lunch Lady Did To Bananas

If you are a parent or guardian, you know that what you say to your children has a significant impact. Conversely, constant criticism can make them feel small, leading them to face the world with a defeated mindset and avoid taking risks.

Words hold immense power, a fact well understood by Stacey Truman, a mother and employee at Kingston Primary School in Virginia. For nine years, Stacey has worked in the school cafeteria, watching children grow into teenagers and venture into the world.

Stacey’s maternal instincts kick in when kids come to the cafeteria for lunch. She wants to do something meaningful to inspire them and offer a fresh perspective. Drawing from a routine she had with her own children, Stacey created the idea of “Talking Bananas.”

Every day, Stacey would pack her kids’ lunches with an encouraging message to motivate them. She noticed that these simple words could positively change their mindset. Inspired by this, she began writing uplifting messages on the bananas in the school cafeteria, providing students with a bit of inspiration during lunch.
